Universally adored, Julianne Moore’s singular distinction is an ability to portray an intensity of emotions that push the boundaries of how we perceive relationships and feelings. When shooting for this issue, Julianne was fresh off the heels of promoting the Pedro Almodovar film « The Room Next Door » and wanted to discuss anything but her career. An understandable request given then hundred-plus credits listed on her IMBD page. “I wanted to talk about design!” she said when arriving on set.
In her conversation with writer Christina Holevas, she discussed the influence her nomadic childhood had on how she designs a home, the importance of good film decor and staying true to your taste. “That’s the thing about design, it’s a signifier for how a person is, how they want to be seen, or how they want to live. When people talk about design being personal, that’s what they mean. It has to relate to how someone wants to live, what makes them feel good.”
Julianne wears a leather fringed hat from Matthieu Blazy’s final Bottega Veneta collection styled by Thistle Brown.
This Issue also features: Anders Krisár, Augustin Deleuze, Baccarat's New Chapter, Bob Colacello, Casalta Studio, Chris Wallace, Crosta Smith Gallery, Dahlia Hojeij, Egypt Beyond, Kazem Naderi, Loewe's teapots, Maria Veerasamy, Matilda Goad, Nan Swid, Pierre Passebon, Robert Wilson, Rosa Gurrola, Vincent Van Duysen and more!
